HP P2000 Max IOPS

Hello everyone,

We currently have a HP P2000 G3 iSCSI SAN, with 12 7.2K RPM N/L SAS Disks. We have the SAN configured as a RAID6 with one hot spare, so there are 11 disks in the RAID6 array. I would like to know (if possible) from some documentation or some website the maximum number of IOPS that this SAN should be able to handle.

I have looked on: http://www.wmarow.com/strcalc, and filled in all the fields and it comes out at 336 Random IOPS. Does this sound right to anyone, as it sounds very low to me? I have also found a Dell document on how to calculate IOPS, which gave me a different answer. They used the following formula: Functional IOPS=((Raw Storage IOPS*Write %)/RAID Write Penalty)+(Raw Storage IOPS*Read %). My calculations based on this formula is as follows:

Raw Storage IOPS = 76 IOPS/Disk * 11 = 836
RAID6 Write Penalty = 6

Functional IOPS=((836*44%)/6)+(836*56%) = 529

How do I know which one is correct, or is there somewhere else I can get a definitive answer on the number of IOPS I can put on this SAN? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
